“amsel & meise” is a small B&B in a wonderfully green neighbourhood – just a few steps from the forest. Enjoy the peace and quiet, and the closeness to the lovely town of Aarau.
The accommodation
You'll stay in a quiet, cosily furnished room. The guest rooms are on the first floor and the top floor of our house. We live in the flat on the ground floor and use part of the upper floors as a studio and office.

We live in the flat below the B&B and are happy to help. If we're not at home, we stay in touch by message.
Location in Suhr
The B&B sits on a very quiet cul-de-sac. The forest is two minutes away, and along the beautiful Bachstrasse you'll reach Aarau station or the old town in five minutes by bike. We're also easy to reach by bus.
Our cats
Cats live with us. They don't have access to the B&B, but you may meet them outside.

How far is it to Aarau station and the old town?
About five minutes by bike along the Bachstrasse. You can use our four bikes anytime, free of charge. We're also easy to reach by bus.
Is there parking?
Yes. Each room has a free parking space right in front of the house. Before you arrive, we'll send you the best route, as the neighbourhood has a few dead ends and road barriers.
Is breakfast included, and when is it served?
Yes, breakfast is included. If you don't need it, deselect it when booking and get a discount. On a breakfast form you choose what you'd like and note your preferred time. We then have your breakfast ready in the kitchen at that time – organic whenever possible. You make your own coffee and tea, as often as you like.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3 pm, check-out by 11 am. Self check-in via key box is possible.
Are children welcome?
Yes. In the “Amsel” room we provide an extra mattress or a travel cot on request. The “Meise” room under the roof is smaller and best suited to two people.
Can I bring my pet?
No, pets aren't allowed. Cats live with us; they have no access to the guest rooms, but may affect people with allergies in the house and garden.
Is there air conditioning?
No, but every room has a fan. It can get warm on the top floor in summer.
How do I pay and cancel?
When you book directly on this website, you pay by credit card or PayPal. You can cancel up to 5 days before check-in; we refund the amount minus the payment provider's fees (around 3–4%).
Are there bikes?
Yes. We have four bikes you can use free of charge anytime during your stay – perfect for getting to Aarau.
Are towels included?
Yes, towels and bed linen are included in the price.
